Making Color

Native Plants, Insects & Pigments

July 22, 2018 1- 4 PM

Join Sandy Rodriguez a three-hour hands workshop focused on methods for extracting organic colorants from edible and medicinal plants, insects, seeds, bark, and telluric materials (mineral and earth pigments) from Alta and Baja California. Participants will engage in a multi sensory experience with the artist as they create and test hand processed watercolors to create a color chart on handmade paper produced from mulberry and wild fig bark in central Mexico.

Workshop takes place in my West Los Angeles studio and supplies are included. Location will be emailed with your registration confirmation.
